Nipsey Hussle's Family Reveals How They Plan To Celebrate His Birthday

Nipsey Hussle's family will be celebrating his 34th birthday in private.

According to TMZ, the late rapper's loved ones have turned down hoards of proposals for a very public birthday bash, instead opting to honor his memory as a family.

"There will be no city-wide celebration in Los Angeles, even though fans are begging for one because his family is still in mourning," the outlet reports. "Nipsey's family will get together on August 15, on what would have been the Crenshaw rapper's 34th birthday, and remember their lost loved one in private."

For weeks there have been reports that fans of the slain rapper, who was gunned down outside his clothing store on March 31, are planning to flock to the Marathon Clothing storefront in Nipsey's honor on his birthday. The plans even caught the attention of the Los Angeles Police Department, as there will reportedly be "a heavy police presence" at the store and fans will not "be able to get close to the storefront, because we're told an extra set of barricades is being added to an existing fence."

Earlier this month, the late rapper and activist's longtime girlfriend Lauren London announced that a "Nipsey Hussle Tower" is being built in front of the clothing store. "As a notice to the public, we're putting up a gate on Thursday, August 1st, 2019 to enclose the plaza at 3420 W Slauson Ave to start the early development stages of the forthcoming Nipsey Hussle Tower to commemorate and honor the life and legacy of Nipsey," read the post. "The Marathon Store will remain closed, but you can shop online at TheMarathonClothing.com."
