Nandi Bushell Hopes To Win A Grammy By Age '14 Or 15'

Nandi Bushell's been cosigned by artists like Lenny Kravitz and Tom Morello. She beat Dave Grohl in a drum battle. She covers everything from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Queen Latifah, and writes her own music too. With all these accolades already under her belt, it's no wonder the 10-year-old has lofty goals.

During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the musical prodigy was asked what she hopes to achieve post-pandemic. “Maybe I’ll fly over to America and perform at the biggest stadium," she said. "I want to write more songs, eventually create an album, tour around the world, and make that album platinum. And hopefully get a Grammy by 14 or 15.”

She also wants to meet another teenage superstar: Billie Eilish. “I like her style. It’s a style that hasn’t been invented — it’s her own, like, anti-pop,” she gushed.

If anyone can do all that before learning to drive, it's you Nandi!

Elsewhere in the interview, the English rocker revealed that she got her first drum kit when she was five years old and first was inspired to play by listening to the Beatles while making breakfast with her family. “We would make pancakes and listen to ‘Hey Jude,’ and see Ringo Starr playing on a drum kit,” she recalled. “I thought that was really awesome.”

Now, she's inspiring her own fans, young and old, and she couldn't be happier. “I feel proud of myself and honored to know that people like watching my videos and feel happy watching them,” Nandi said. “You know, they feel less sad because of all this Covid stuff.”
