Usher Delivers Sultry First Single 'GLU' Off His Upcoming Album

Usher

Usher is back in his R&B bag.

On Friday, March 17, the Atlanta-based artist released his first new single in three years, and it's iHeartRadio's latest World Premiere. "GLU" is a steamy slow jam that has Ursher (*Luda voice*) reuniting with producer Lil Jon, Sean Garrett and The Avila Brothers. The song is the first offering from the 8x Grammy award-winner's upcoming ninth studio LP coming later this year. The album is set to arrive via Larry Jackson's gamma, who recently locked down a fresh deal with the Hard II Love crooner.

This will be Usher Raymond's first project since he release "A" with Zaytoven in 2018. He hasn't formally released new music since 2020 when he first began to hype fans up for his latest body of work. At the time, he dropped off several collaborations with Marshmello, Tyga, Kiana Lede, and Ella Mai. Usher also released "SexBeat," which brought him back together with Lil Jon and Ludacris for the first time in 15 years. Lil Jon debuted the song for the first time during his Verzuz battle with T-Pain.

Since then, Usher has been focused on performing his array of hits at his stunning residency in Las Vegas, and tearing it up in the roller rink. He's also been knocking out features on major hits like Summer Walker's "Come Thru" and City Girls' recent smash "Good Love." He also celebrated the 25th anniversary of his second album My Way by releasing a special edition that include six additional tracks.
