Thanksgiving Diner for the Homeless and Hungry

The 34th Annual Memphis Thanksgiving Dinner for the Homeless and Hungry will once again be held at the Memphis Cook Convention Center on November 22, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This annual event is sponsored by the City of Memphis along with several local businesses to provide a traditional thanksgiving meal to those less fortunate in the greater Memphis community. This special event features prayer, inspirational music, several support service agencies and area church counselors to address personal issues and other areas of need and concern.

We will also have representatives from the health community on site to check blood pressure, offer free flu shots and other health and wellness services. Free phones will be available for those who wish to reach out to loved ones on this day.

Donated items including soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, caps, scarves and gloves will also be distributed while supplies last.

Volunteers are needed.

If you wish to donate items we would prefer Hats, scarves, gloves, toiletries and draw string backpacks (all new and unopened if possible). You can drop off items at ANY Royal Furniture store until Nov. 20You can also come to the Cook Convention Center, Wednesday, November 21from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 201. We don’t need any more volunteers to serve on Thanksgiving but we DO need volunteers to help unload, sort and prepare donated items November 21.
